Durgapur City Hospital started it's journey in the year of 1988 on the auspicious day of 15th August. Founded by Dr. M. M. Dutta, a famous gynecologist of his time and Dr. A. B. Chatterjee - Child Specialist ; patronized by Dr. P. R. Mukherjee - a famous Physician. Erstwhile it was known as Durgapur City Clinic and Nursing home Pvt. Ltd. It has grown into its current day existence with a present surface area of 1004 sqr mtr , located at the most central position of Durgapur i.e. City Center.

  Recently with a big modernization effort in terms of infrastructure and system, it has come up with the new name of Durgapur City Hospital and Clinic Pvt. Ltd.

  Patient can avail required services in the varioud departments like General medicine, General Surgery, optometry, Orthopedic, Urology, Urosurgery, Nephrology, Gynocology, Obstetrics, MIS (Minimum Invasive Surgery for Gall Bladder, Appendix, Urology) and different gynocological procedure under same roof. The effeciency is further enhanced by a powerful Haemodialysis unit and pediatric ward. And to support those are the 8 Bedded Critical care units and the Neonatal care unit. Eminent doctors from various fields with expertise are the pillars of this institution. The close proximity of the doctors ensures their availability round the clock. In short it has all the elements that a good Hospital should have. The strength of the establishment is highlighted by its efficient team of doctors and nurses and other staff including administration that work in perfect harmony

  The new feathers in our cap are a fully operating OPD (Out Patients' Department), a 24 hours operating laboratory, ECG, Beside Sonography, digital X-Ray hineng USG, CT Scan, TMT, EED, PFC (Holter Monitoring) to name a few. We are fully equipped with 5 OTs (Operation Theaters), 95 Beds including 9 recovery Beds, 13 Cabins, 5 Wards well spaced in four floors. We try to ensure comfort to our patients and for this we incorporate new technology and latest equipment. In the 5th floor there is a conference hall under construction for media and house staffs' training along with live streaming of critical operations in progress.
